Nursery 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
On Sunday mornings, we provide loving care to children under three years old while parents are attending worship services and Sunday School. The nursery is located in Room 202 of the Christian Life Center. Nursery is also provided during other scheduled programs and events. Learn more:

8:30 a.m. Worship Service
During the worship service, children ages three through 5th grade are welcome to come to the altar for the Children’s Moment. Following the Children’s Moment, children will be given a worship bag and will return to sit with their family for the remainder of the worship service. The worship bags contain things to help them follow the sermon and help them feel a part of the service.
10 a.m. Children’s Sunday School
We have five age-based classes for children ages three through 5th grade. All of our classes use the Deep Blue curriculum from Cokesbury, which is designed to present children with a story -based approach to the Bible and give them a foundation for a personal relationship with Christ. It includes crafts, games, stories, and more.

Sunday Evenings
G.L.O.W. (God Lights Our World)
G.L.O.W. is Buford First UMC’s children’s music and Christian education program for children ages three through 5th grad. The program runs during the school year (September – April) on Sunday evenings from 5:30 – 7 p.m. G.L.O.W. is a three-part program that includes Bible story, craft, music, and recreation. The children are divided into three age groups: three- and four-year-olds, kindergarten through 2nd grade, and 3rd through 5th grade. Each age group rotates through each activity, and the night ends with all the groups in recreation. Other Scheduled Children’s Events
Easter Egg Hunt
Each Spring, Buford First organizes an Easter Egg Hunt. The hunt is designed so that there are different hunting areas for various age groups. We also have other activities such as the reading of the Easter story, fun prizes, and a visit from the Easter Bunny! This event is open to the community.
Vacation Bible School
Each Summer, the Children’s Ministry at Buford First plans an amazing Vacation Bible School that is open to children ages three to 5th grade. Our program includes a week filled with games, Bible stories, science experiments, crafts, recreation, and most importantly, sharing the love of God. Registration opens in March. Fall Festival
Each Fall, Buford First organizes a Fall Festival that is open to the entire community. This event has something for everyone and is a great way for the entire family to spend time together. Here are some of the fun things we plan each year:

- Hayrides through downtown Buford
